As part of the Bridging Divides: Higher Education's Role in Advancing, Understanding, and Promoting a Just Society I will be giving a Common Hour talk in Mather-Hall Terrace, Room B. This talk, titled "Children's Literature and Change: José Martí and the Real-World Consequences of Childhood Reading" is free and open to the public. A light lunch will be served. 2018 The Color of Children’s Literature Conference

One of the most exciting things in children's literature the last few years has been the Kweli Conference. Every year this event is bigger and better than the year before, and if you are an aspiring children's author of color, this is where you'll find your people.
